Building Peace

I've heard so much contention and animosity between folks who have differing views on the military action and "war on terrorism" currently going on.

Regardless of where you may stand on that issue, I offer the following thoughts:

“I charge you all that each one of you concentrate all the thoughts of your heart on love and unity. When a thought of war comes, oppose it by a stronger thought of peace. A thought of hatred must be destroyed by a more powerful thought of love. Thoughts of war bring destruction to all harmony, well-being, restfulness and content.

Thoughts of love are constructive of brotherhood, peace, friendship, and happiness.” - ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Paris Talks, pg. 29

When it comes to war I would like to see them try the idea from the Frankie Goes to Hollywood "Two Tribes" video... let the leaders of the nations who want to go to war enter a ring and fight it out themselves... it would be cost effective and save lives.

And... perhaps we would have less wars since THEN the leaders would have more at stake for themselves.
